  1. For making Koftas-Pressure cook the chholar dal/ Chana dal with little salt, turmeric powder & little water.Then smash it into a smooth paste.
  2. Dry roast cumin seeds, dry red chilli in a fry pan until you get the aroma of cumin.Grind them in fine powder
  3. Mash the paneer in a bowl.Add 1 tsp sugar, 1tsp flour, garam masala powder, salt.Keep it aside.
  4. In a kadai heat 2-3 tsp mustard oil.Add asafetid,ginger paste, turmeric powder.Saute for few seconds.Then add the boiled & mash dal.
  5. Add salt & sugar.Fry until the dal comes out from the ages of the kadai.Keep it in a bowl.
  6. Add the dry roasted cumin & red chilli masala or bhaja masala to the dal.Mix it well.
  7. Divide the paneer mixture into equal sized balls.
  8. Take some mashed dal stuffing into the hole of the paneer ball & cover it with paneer mixture to make round ball again.
  9. In a kadai heat some oil to shallow fry the koftas.
  10. Dust the koftas with little flour & shallow fry the koftas on low flame.
  11. For making the gravy-In the same oil heat 2-3 tsp of oil.Add ginger paste,chopped tomatoes & all dry masalas except garam masala.Saute for few mints with little water.Add salt, sugar.
  12. When oil start releasing from the sides add cashew paste & mix well with little water.
  13. Cook for another few mints & then sprinkle garam masala,slit green chilli.Switch off the flame.
  14. Transfer the gravy into a serving dish.Cut the koftas or Niramish Dim lengthwise & garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
