  13. Make ready 1" stick dalchini/cinnamon
  14. Make ready 6-8 curry leaves
  15. Make ready 2 slit green chillies
  16. Make ready 2tbsp garlic finely chopped
  17. Make ready 1/2 tsp haldi / turmeric powder
  18. Make ready 1 tsp chilli powder
  19. Prepare 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  20. Get 1 tbsp coriander powder
  21. Prepare to taste Salt
  22. Prepare as needed For serving:- kadhi, pickle, salad and papad
Instructions to make Kathiyavadi Ram Khichdi:
  1. Clean wash and soak dals and rice for 15 minutes. Drain and keep aside.
  2. Meanwhile heat the ghee in pressure cooker and add the cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon and bay leaf, dry red chilli, kali mirch.
  3. When the cumin seeds crackle add curry leaves, green chilli and hing.
  4. Add onions, garlic and saute for 1 minute. Add all the chopped vegetable and all spice powder and saute for on a medium flame for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add the rice and dals and salt and saute on a medium flame for another 2 minutes.
  6. Add 4 cups of hot water, mix well and pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistle.
  7. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid and mix well.
  8. Serve hot with kadhi, papad, salad and pickle
