- Take tuvar dal in a bowl. Wash 3-4 times. And soak it for 20 minutes. Now take one cooker add dal and chopped tomato, peanut and green chilli
- Now close the lid. Keep the cooker at low flame and allowed to whistle three times. Turn off the gas and let the lid open. After the lid open wrisk the dal
- Add kokum, curry leaves, jaggery, salt, coriander seed powder and ginger paste in dal
- Take one small pan for tempering. Add oil and keep it on low flame when oil heated add mustard seeds in it.
- When mustard seeds starts crackle add hing, bay leaf, cinnamon,one red chilli, red chilli powder, methi masala, daal masala and turmeric powder
- Mix well all the ingredients In dal. Keep the dal at low flame.
- Take one bowl soak rice in it for 15 to 20 minutes now wash the rice with hands 4 to 5 times. Take one big vessel add water in it keep it on high flame
- When water starts boiling add oil, salt and lemon juice in it.
- Now add washed rice. Leave it on medium flame till cooked. Pour it in seive. So, extra water drain from it. Dal rice is ready to serve
- This Gujarati dal chawal is main meal serve in lunch.
