The ingredients needed to make Curd Oats:
  1. Prepare 3/4 cup Oats
  2. Take as needed hot water (to soak)
  3. Make ready 1,1 /2 cup thick curd / yogurt
  4. Prepare 2 tbsp carrot (grated)
  5. Prepare 2 tbsp cucumber (grated)
  6. Take 2 tbsp onion (finely chopped)
  7. Prepare 2-3 tbsp tomato (finely chopped)
  8. Prepare 2 tbsp peanuts (roasted)
  9. Prepare handful green coriander leaves
  10. Get as needed some mint leaves (chopped)
  11. Make ready as per taste salt
  12. Take as per taste Black pepper powder
  13. Prepare as needed pomegranate seeds
  14. Take For tempering –
  15. Get 1 tbsp oil
  16. Prepare 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  17. Take 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  18. Take 1/2 tsp urad dal
  19. Take pinch hing / asafoetida
  20. Get 2 green chillies (finely chopped / slit)
  21. Get 1 sprig Some curry leaves (optional)

Heat pan with oil add mustard seeds, once it crackled add bengal gram, urad dal. Curd Oats or Savory Oats with Yogurt is a South Indian style oats preparation for a light meal.   1. First dry roast the oats in a pan for about 2 -3 minutes on low to medium heat. add enough hot water to moisten the oats and let it cool completely.
  2. After cooling add beaten curd to the oats mix well.
  3. Add all chopped veggies (mentioned above)and mix well.
  4. Add as required salt and black pepper powder mix well.
  5. In a tempering pan heat oil. add peanuts and roast for a min.add roasted peanuts to curd oats bowl and mix.
  6. Now in the same tempering pan add mustard seeds, cumin seeds.let them sizzle.add urad dal and saute until golden.add green chillies and curry leaves.saute and switch off the heat.add hing and immediately pour this to the curd oats bowl and mix.top with pomegranate seeds and mix well again.
  7. Healthy Curd Oats is ready to serve.serve immediately.
