  16. Make ready 1/2 cup Toor dal wash and soaked
  17. Prepare 1 cup Rice wash and soaked
  18. Take Water as required
  19. Make ready 1 Chopped tomato
  20. Prepare Salt as per taste
  21. Get to taste Tamarind juice
  22. Prepare Coriander leaves for garnishing
  23. Take Boondi for garnishing
  24. Prepare For Spice Powder:
  25. Get 7-8 Dry red chillies
  26. Take 1/8 tsp Fenugreek seeds
  27. Take 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  28. Take 1 inch piece Cinnamon
  29. Prepare 2 Cloves
  30. Take 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  31. Take 2 Cardamom
  32. Take 2 tsp Coriander seeds
  33. Take 1 tbsp Chana dal
  34. Prepare 1 tbsp Urad dal
  35. Get 1 tbsp Dry coconut/chopped fresh coconut

Bisi bele bath should have thin consistency. Switch on the stove and bring it to boil by stirring continuously. Add in a tsp of ghee at the end and serve. Tasty bisi bele bath ready to eat.

Instructions to make Bisi Bele Bath:
  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds cumin seeds dry red chillis broken cashewnuts small pieces of onion ginger garlic paste green chilli and curry leaves and saute for few seconds.
  2. Add asafoetida and all the chopped vegetables and saute them little and then add turmeric powder.
  3. Saute these vegetables little bit then add soaked dal and rice and add enough water.
  4. Just cover it with lid and let it boil till the rice is very well cooked and the dal is almost mashed up and all the vegetables are very soft.
  5. Now to make the spice powder for the bisi bele bath.
  6. For this dry roast all the ingredients make a powder.
  7. Heat a pan and add a little bit of red chillis, fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, cinnamon, cloves, cumin seeds and cardamom.
  8. When mustard seeds start to crackle add coriander seeds.
  9. Make sure the flame is little bit low.
  10. Once coriander seeds are slightly coloured add chana dal and urad dal.
  11. Now add coconut powder or freshly chopped coconut and dry roast all these.
  12. Now take a blender and add the dry roast ingredients and blend them coarsely powdered.
  13. Now when the dal and rice almost three-fourths cook then add tomatoes and mix well.
  14. Add salt and some more water if required when the dal and rice are almost getting cooked.
  15. Then add this bisibelebath powder and mix well.
  16. Add tamarind juice and mix well.
  17. Garnish with coriander leaves roasted cashewnuts and boondi.
  18. Now Bisi Bele Bath is ready.
  19. Bisi Bele Bath serve with Raita, Papad and Pickle.
