- Prepare Raw shrimp - 200 grm (medium-size)
- Make ready Chicken fillet - 200 grm

- Get to taste Salt

Often called Thai Hot and Sour Soup, it's bold and perky with a pop of spicy heat. Serve tom yum soup as is for a flavorful appetizer or with steamed white rice or sticky rice as a main dish. You can either place some rice in a bowl and serve the soup on top or serve the rice on the side. Tom yum is really like a mix of different ingredients, all boiled together into a soup, and flavored with a trio of Thai herbs: lemongrass, galangal, and kaffir lime leaves.
Instructions to make Tom Yum Soup:
- Use a meat mallet or the side of a knife to smash the lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, onion and garlic. (Kp aside)
- Grind/blend dried chilli & thai chilli into thick paste. (Kp aside)
- Add oil into a pot. Add smashed ingredients followed by the chilli pastes. Stir well and add water. Simmer for 5-10 minutes, until the broth smells fresh and fragrant.
- Add in the carrot, cauliflower, mushrooms, shrimp, chicken fillet and fish sauce. Simmer just long enough for the chicken and shrimp to cook.
- Add in the lime juice, maggi cubes, sugar and salt. Stir well. Cook for 5 more minutes. Serve hot.
